JOB DUTIES

This working position is responsible for the installation and repair of plumbing and associated systems, LP Gas supply, Waste Collection and Potable Water necessary to operate a major institution. This position will also provide on the job training to those inmates he/she supervises in plumbing and associated systems.

  • Performs preventive maintenance and repairs for all plumbing systems, including LP gas supply, waste collection, and potable water.
  • Installs, maintains, and repairs plumbing fixtures such as valves, faucets, traps, sinks, sewer lines, vents, and sanitary fixtures.
  • Cleans boilers, tanks, and water heaters.
  • Reads blueprints, organizes work, prepares reports, supervises inmates, participates in departmental training, and performs other related duties as required.

REQUIREMENTS

  • A high school diploma or its equivalent and at least one (1) year of experience in the plumbing trade OR four or more years of experience in the plumbing trade (College or vocational/technical training in the above listed trade can substitute for the required experience).
  • A valid Driver’s license.
