Plumber, LA Memorial Coliseum (Resource Employee)

About the role

The Plumber (Resource Employee) position is within the rapidly growing team of USC Auxiliary Services. Our division focuses on providing essential services to over 65,000 students, athletes, faculty, staff, and guests at USC campuses. The Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum, home to USC Trojans football since 1923, hosts various events and is currently undergoing a $315 million-dollar renovation.

Responsibilities

• Installs, repairs, and maintains plumbing systems and equipment using a variety of tools and equipment.
• Determines need to repair and/or replace equipment.
• Estimates materials required for specific job components.
• Participates in the Plumber Pay for Knowledge and Skills Program, including on-the-job training.
• Trains journeymen and other employees on specific skills and tasks as required.
• Maintains clean job sites throughout the duration of the project and cleans up after work completion.
• Maintains safe working conditions for self and others.
• Stores and maintains supplies, tools, and equipment.
• Prepares reports and/or maintenance records as needed.
• Responds to on-call emergencies.
• Performs other related duties as assigned or requested.

Qualifications

• Minimum Education: High School Diploma or equivalent and completion of four-year apprenticeship program.
• Minimum Experience: Two years.
• Minimum Field of Expertise: Four years experience as a trade-related trainee may substitute for completion of a four-year apprenticeship program. Additional two years minimum experience must be as a journeyman.
• Experience performing standard trade-related procedures.
• General knowledge of trade-related methods, materials, tools, and equipment.
• Familiarity with city and state building codes, OSHA rules and regulations, standard safety practices and equipment.

Pay

The hourly rate for this position is $26.24. The University of Southern California considers various factors when determining offers, including the scope and responsibilities of the role, the candidate's experience, education, training, key skills, internal peer alignment, applicable laws, contractual requirements, grant funding, and market conditions.
