Plumber Foreman

Summary

Our Plumbing Foreman manages day‑to‑day operations on assigned plumbing tasks for commercial construction projects. The role provides guidance and direction to a commercial plumbing crew consisting of journeymen, mechanics, and apprentices/helpers, ensuring job quality and customer satisfaction at every stage. In addition to supervisory responsibility, the position is a working foreman, directly performing a wide range of skilled construction tasks.

Essential Functions

• Study specifications, contract documents, BIM model, schedule, and VDC drawings to plan procedures for construction, including staffing and timing.
• Assemble members of the organization (supervisory, clerical, engineering, and other workers) throughout a project.
• Perform a wide range of skilled construction tasks as a working Plumbing Foreman.
• Direct and confer with personnel and subcontractors engaged in planning and executing work procedures, interpreting specifications, and coordinating phases of construction to prevent delays.
• Confere with supervisory and engineering personnel, inspectors, and suppliers of tools and materials to resolve construction problems and improve methods.
• Attend job‑site and office meetings related to assigned Plumbing Foreman tasks.
• Direct the installation, modification, and repair of plumbing and related systems, equipment, and fixtures.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in commercial plumbing operations or an equivalent combination of vocational training and experience.
• 2+ years of experience as a Plumbing Foreman, running crews on heavy commercial construction projects.
• Extensive knowledge and direct experience with plumbing systems installation.
• Proven ability to manage and lead teams of 8–10 individuals, ensuring high productivity and successful project outcomes.
• Ability to multi‑task, work with minimal supervision, follow written and oral instructions, demonstrate attention to detail, and solve problems.
• Adherence to all company policies and procedures.
• Availability and means to report to multiple job sites as assigned.
• OSHA 30 certification.
• First aid/CPR certification.
• Medical Gas certification.
• High school diploma or GED equivalent.

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior military experience.

Work Environment

• Varying temperatures; both inside and outside, including inclement weather, heat, humidity, cold, and dampness.
• Exposure to moderate/high noise levels.
• Exposure to fumes or airborne particles, including dust.
• Potential work in confined spaces or at high heights.

Physical Demands

• Routine use of construction equipment such as heavy machinery, hand and power tools.
• Work aloft, climb, bend, pull, reach overhead, stand/walk for long periods, and lift up to 50 lb.
• Frequent use of hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms.
• Must correctly identify all colors of color‑coded cables/wires and possess adequate close, distance, depth‑perception, peripheral vision, and focus adjustment.

Travel

May require travel, typically not overnight.
