Plumber - Fitter - Grade 3
Duties
- Perform assigned piping and plumbing installations on a wide variety of systems and equipment.
- Install, repair and maintain a wide variety of plumbing and piping components.
- Test and inspect completed work to detect faulty installations and correct as necessary.
- Perform inspections, maintenance, and housekeeping programs on various areas.
- Install, repair and maintain all types of plumbing and piping materials and components.
- Operate various types of hand and power tools to cut, thread, bend and join pipe.
- Operate and maintain portable sewage and water pumps, sewage cleaning machines and rods, etc.
- Read and interpret drawings, blueprints, sketches, and work orders.
- Plan and layout work in proper sequence, assuring top-quality work in all aspects.
- Detect unusual conditions and defective materials and report to supervisor.
- Maintain workshop and job area in clean, neat, and orderly condition.
- Protect surrounding property and furniture from damage during process of work.
- Answer questions for and/or direct the work of apprentices and/or lower grade employees as required.
- Operate motor vehicle as required.
- Perform other duties related or similar to the type described above.
Job Requirements
- Requires the use of advanced shop mathematics together with the use of complicated drawings, specifications, charts, tables, handbook formulas, all varieties of precision measuring instruments and/or the use of broad training in a recognized trade.
- Equivalent to a complete accredited, indentured apprenticeship or equivalent to high school plus a 2-year technical college education.
- Over 1 year up to and including 3 years of effective experience.
- None required.
Qualifications
- MINIMUM WORK EXPERIENCE: 1 to 3 years of effective experience.
