About the role

Donovan Air, Electric, and Plumbing is seeking residential Service Plumbers to join a creative, energetic team dedicated to delivering exceptional customer service. Plumbers handle a variety of plumbing tasks, service upgrades, and payment collection while maintaining high standards of work quality, efficiency, and compliance with local and national codes. This is an hourly plus commission opportunity.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and diagnose common and diverse plumbing problems accurately and efficiently.
• Perform repairs consistent with and exceeding code standards.
• Water heater repair and replacement.
• Fixture replacement (to include faucets, tubs, showers, and toilets).
• Drain cleaning and competent use of conventional sewer machines.
• Increase customer loyalty by maintaining a clean working area.
• Educate and offer customers appropriate upgrades that can be completed immediately or at a scheduled time.
• Engage in conversation with homeowners to uncover concerns or interests regarding their AC, plumbing, or electrical systems.
• Understand company pricing program and generate appropriate customer invoices; electronically process credit card payments.
• Accurately estimate and invoice repairs and projects.
• Document work completed with before and after photos.
• Effectively communicate with all internal and external customers.
• Maintain good working order of company vehicle, including proper stock, parts, tools, and safety equipment.
• Travel to job sites in the service area and work with dispatch to maintain schedule and communicate delays to customers.
• Demonstrate safe working practices and methods.
• Participate in company-provided training on customer service and the latest industry technologies.
• Work with apprentices to coach and mentor.

Requirements

• A minimum of 4 years of residential plumbing service and repair experience in all aspects of the plumbing system.
• Strong residential service experience and troubleshooting skills.
• Working knowledge of city codes and leak location/repair.
• Integrity and the ability to promote a positive company image.
• Ability to perform physically demanding tasks daily, including lifting, carrying, and maneuvering a minimum of 75 pounds without additional assistance.
• Ability to work in outdoor elements (heat and cold), on ladders, and on roofs of medium to high heights safely.
• Must be able to crawl in tight spaces, climb ladders, work in attics, garages, crawl spaces, and on roofs.
• Good analytical skills, attention to detail, and results-driven in a high-energy environment.
• Detail-oriented with strong time management skills.
• Ability to work independently, ensuring jobs are completed correctly the first time.
• Maintain a well-groomed appearance, clean uniform, and work shoes.
• Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills with a strong desire to exceed customer expectations.
