Plumber

Description Of Duties Of Position

• Install and maintain various plumbing systems including sanitary waste, storm drain, potable water, acid waste, and waste neutralization systems.
• Service and maintain plant and instrument compressed air systems, low and medium pressure steam systems, and hot water heating systems.
• Install and maintain the following piping systems: steam/condensate, chilled water, process cooling, plant/instrument air, refrigerant, and process gas.
• Provide 24-hour emergency response as necessary in support of mechanical systems.
• Assist fellow trade and service workers as required.

Qualifications

• Massachusetts Journeyman Plumber’s license
• 5 years experience in the plumbing field required.
• The ability to read construction drawings and process and instrumentation drawings (P & ID’s) is required.
• A Massachusetts Journeyman Pipefitter’s license with a minimum of 3 years experience is desired.
• Driver’s License required.
• The ability to climb and maneuver on ladders, staging, work platforms and/or spaces that are tight, confined spaces such as manholes.
• Crawling over and around equipment located in building pipe chases and mechanical rooms or construction areas is a must.
• Must be able to work all shifts as required by MIT Lincoln Laboratory.
• Required to work during the site wide semi-annual steam plant facilities maintenance shutdowns.

Pay

Hiring Range: $51.45

Schedule

Monday-Friday 3:00PM to 11:00pm.
