Responsibilities

• Work as part of a team to learn and perform tasks assigned by the plumbing superintendent and lead plumber.
• Install, repair, and maintain plumbing systems in commercial or public buildings.
• Operate specialized machinery, equipment, and tools for plumbing repairs and installations.
• Assemble pipe sections, tubing, and fittings using couplings, clamps, screws, bolts, cement, plastic solvent, caulking, soldering, brazing, and welding equipment.
• Install plumbing equipment such as sinks, tubs, toilets, water heaters, appliances, and trim.
• Ensure water supply networks and waste drainage systems are functioning properly.
• Assemble and install valves and fittings.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• 1-3 years of experience as a plumbing apprentice in commercial or residential installation, or an equivalent combination of vocational training and experience.
• Journeyman or Master Plumbers License preferred.
• Ability to pass a drug screen and background check.
• Overtime may be necessary.

Pay

$16 - $37 an hour.

Physical Demands & Working Conditions

• Frequent use of hands to handle, control, or feel objects, tools, or controls.
• Must be able to sit, talk, hear, and stand frequently throughout the day.
• Must be able to climb, reach above shoulder height, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl frequently.
• Occasional lifting of heavy objects (up to 50 pounds) and performing strenuous physical labor under adverse field conditions.
• Exposure to varying temperatures and all weather conditions at outside job sites.
• May work with or around typical construction materials and chemicals, requiring safety data sheet knowledge.
• May require driving or riding in a vehicle for two or more hours at a time.
