Journeyman Plumber position supporting the physical school plant to ensure a safe, functional educational environment.
Qualifications
- Three years of documented plumbing experience
- Valid New Mexico Journeyman Plumber license issued through New Mexico C.I.D.
- Competent plumbing skills
- Able to lift 60–75 pounds regularly
- Valid New Mexico Driver’s License for required vehicle sizes
- High School Diploma or G.E.D.
- Ability to read, comprehend, and execute written instructions and Material Safety Data labels
- Computer literate in word processing, spreadsheets, and static inventory record-keeping
Responsibilities
- Work cooperatively with colleagues, supervisors, and administrators
- Demonstrate ethical behavior and engage in self-development
- Follow district policies, administrative guidelines, and legal regulations
- Maintain professional conduct and appearance
- Advise, coordinate, and prioritize plumbing jobs district-wide
- Take primary responsibility for quality and completion of assigned work
- Assume duties of Head Plumber when required
- Perform general maintenance tasks as time and need permit
- Ensure safe condition of pipes, drains, fixtures, and related systems
- Maintain outdoor sprinklers, waste disposal systems, radiators, and similar installations
- Read and follow written instructions accurately
- Plan and execute work efficiently and safely
- Account for supplies, materials, and equipment
- Conduct regular preventive-maintenance inspections of district facilities
Supervisor
Reports to the Supervisor of Custodial/Maintenance and the Head Journeyman Plumber.
