About this position: Plumber in Wahiawa, HI
- Preventative Maintenance of commercial plumbing equipment
- Troubleshooting and repairs of commercial plumbing equipment
- Testing and inspection of backflow preventers and fire hydrants
- Maintains adequate inventory parts, equipment and material
- Escorts contractors
- Responds to emergencies in accordance with the PWS Act as the SME for infrastructure improvements involving plumbing upgrades and projects
- Act as the SME for all building water outages
- Act as the SME for all backflow preventers
- Reads blueprints and schematics
- Works flexible hours
- Works overtime
Required (Minimum Necessary)
- Education Requirements: High School Diploma or GED
- Active Journeyman or higher plumber license in any state
- Active backflow preventer certification
- Active TS/SCI clearance
- 5 years of experience in commercial plumbing
- 2 years of experience in inspecting, troubleshooting and repairing backflow preventers
- Extensive knowledge of the Plumbing Codes and Regulations
- Excellent organization skills
- Excellent customer service and communication skills
- Experience working on specialized plumbing equipment to include but not limited to, sewage ejector pits, commercial water heaters, fire hydrants, commercial kitchen drains, and solar-powered plumbing equipment.
- Experience in testing and inspection reports to ensure accuracy
- Experience utilizing various tools and testing equipment to perform required duties
- Excellent knowledge of reading blueprints and schematics
- Able to work flexible hours
- Able to work overtime
Necessary Physical Requirements
- Ability to move throughout the property, including accessing multiple floors, stairways, and mechanical spaces
- Ability to remain in a stationary position and/or move about the property for extended periods during inspections or issue resolution
- Ability to operate standard maintenance tools and office equipment
- Ability to position self (e.g., bend, stoop, kneel, reach) to inspect or access equipment and areas requiring maintenance
- Ability to move items of moderate weight (e.g., up to 25–50 lbs), or coordinate assistance when needed
- Ability to communicate effectively with tenants, staff, and vendors
- Regular movement throughout the property is required, including common areas, mechanical rooms, and exterior spaces
- May encounter variable environmental conditions, such as: Weather changes (heat, cold, rain, snow) Noise levels from equipment or building systems Occasional exposure to dust, odors, cleaning agents, and building materials may occur
- Requires interaction with tenants, employees, vendors, and contractors in both routine and time-sensitive situations
- Work may involve responding to urgent or emergency situations outside of standard business hours
- Use of standard office equipment (computers, phones) as well as occasional use of maintenance tools or equipment
- Supervisory Responsibilities: This position will not have supervisory responsibilities.
