About the role
The Plumber Apprentice, under the direction of the Responsible Master Plumber, will perform full-service plumbing, construction, installation, and repair. This role is designed for individuals learning the plumbing trade through on-the-job training and, when applicable, classroom instruction. The apprentice will work under the direct supervision of a licensed plumber to gain practical skills, follow safety guidelines, and ensure work meets industry codes and standards.
Responsibilities
- Assists the plumbing operation with installs, repairs, replacements, and maintenance of liquid waste, air, and gas lines.
- Maintains a clean and safe work environment. Ensures company vehicles and equipment are properly serviced, clean, and in good working condition.
- Observes and helps plumbers assemble and install valves and pipe fittings. Repairs and maintains valves, faucets, traps, sinks, washbowls, sewers, vents, and fixtures.
- Performs work in confined spaces, such as crawl spaces, pits, and utility tunnels, following all safety protocols. Company will provide training and certification.
- Works at heights when necessary (e.g., ladders, scaffolding, rooftops) using proper fall protection equipment.
- Completes special projects and other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
- Valid Texas Driver's License with a clean driving record.
- Able to complete work orders upon job completion.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Basic mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn the plumbing trade.
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
- Shift work required at times with differential pay.
- Highly motivated, self-starter with strong attention to detail.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, time management, and organizational skills.
- Strong customer service skills to handle client inquiries and concerns.
Qualifications
Plumber Apprentice card (Preferred).
