Responsibilities
- Setup, program, and operate CNC and manual grinding equipment used to manufacture precision plugs, dies, and related tooling required for copper tube drawing operations.
- Support the production process by ensuring tooling is manufactured, maintained, and repaired to precise dimensional and surface specifications.
- Work from engineering drawings, blueprints, and technical documentation to produce high-precision tooling used in drawing operations.
- Works under the supervision of the P&D Tooling Supervisor and supports the overall toolroom operations through precision machining, tooling maintenance, and collaboration with engineering and production teams.
Qualifications
- A high school diploma or GED is required.
- Vocational training in machining, toolmaking, or related field is preferred.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and understanding of machining processes.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and blueprints.
- Proficiency with precision measuring tools and shop mathematics.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work within tight tolerances.
- Ability to work independently while maintaining collaboration with engineering and production teams.
- Preferred experience operating CNC grinding machines or similar precision machining equipment.
- Experience in tooling manufacturing for tube drawing or metal forming processes.
- Familiarity with CNC programming and machine parameter optimization.
- Experience in manufacturing environments supporting continuous production operations.
