About the role
As a foreperson, you lead one of our five construction teams. You take charge and responsibility for your team’s tasks, guiding, giving feedback, and motivating your colleagues daily to deliver high-quality construction projects together. You read blueprints, coordinate site activities, and ensure compliance with safety regulations. You participate in masonry work across all phases of the construction process: foundation work, formwork, rebar tying, concreting, brick and block construction, and installation of prefabricated elements or other building materials. You share your knowledge and experience with colleagues and embody the values of De Roo Bouw.
Responsibilities
- Read and interpret construction plans and drawings
- Determine required materials, tools, and machinery
- Coordinate tasks with other team members
- Assist in setting up the construction site
- Perform masonry work in various bonding patterns
- Install prefabricated elements
- Lay sewer and drainage systems
- Perform insulation and sealing work
- Execute concreting, formwork, and reinforcement tasks
- Carry out demolition, renovation, and pointing work
Requirements
- Minimum 5 years of experience in residential construction
- Preferably prior experience leading other employees
- Driven, detail-oriented, and committed to high-quality finishes
- Adaptable to changing site conditions and tasks
- Patient, fair, and a team player who enjoys a positive work environment
- Fluent in Dutch and hold a valid B driver’s license

De Roo Bouw is a family-owned construction company where a team of around 20 colleagues guides clients through their building projects, from structural work to full finishing. Our sites are located in East and West Flanders. As a foreperson, you lead a team of 3 to 4 masons, working on diverse and challenging projects you can be proud of.
