Principal, Product Strategy (RWE/HEOR)
About the Role
At Komodo Health, our mission is to reduce the global burden of disease through smarter use of data. We built the Healthcare Map—the industry’s largest, most complete, precise view of the U.S. healthcare system—by combining de-identified, real-world patient data with innovative algorithms and decades of clinical experience. This role is fundamentally a segment owner with a builder's mindset, holding the strategic P&L view for RWE/HEOR—assessing where to invest, what to ship, and how to move the market. You will partner closely with Product, Engineering, Marketing, and Sales to drive growth within the RWE/HEOR segment for Life Sciences customers.
Team
The Product Strategy team identifies, prototypes, ships, and scales products that drive growth within specific market segments. We operate across three horizons:
- Where to play over the next 3-5 years
- Prototyping, launching, and landing new products that will drive growth over the next 1-3 years
- Optimizing Komodo’s existing product portfolio
We sit at the intersection of Product, Engineering, Sales, and Marketing, translating market intelligence and customer needs into strategies, products, and results.
Responsibilities
Looking back on your first 12 months at Komodo Health, you will have accomplished:
- Taken ownership of and refined Komodo’s RWE/HEOR segment strategy, ensuring a clear view of where to invest in product development to drive growth, retention, and account penetration
- Shipped 3-5 solutions—apps, agents, data products, skill suites, etc.—that are live, generating revenue, and solving real problems for RWE/HEOR customers
- Established yourself as the go-to internal and external expert at the intersection of Komodo's portfolio and the RWE/HEOR market, including representing Komodo at industry forums and conferences
Essential job duties include:
- Own segment strategy for RWE/HEOR with a P&L mindset toward where to invest to drive growth, retention, and account penetration in the near- and mid-term
- Conduct ongoing product reviews tracking RWE/HEOR performance by product, competitive dynamics, and portfolio gaps
- Engage externally with customers, partners, and industry forums to understand market trends, buyer/user needs, and the competitive landscape
- Prototype new product concepts using AI and low-code approaches, then build PRDs and partner with PM and Engineering to iterate and ship
- Lead market entry for new RWE/HEOR products at early adopters: serve as early internal user; develop initial value proposition; collaborate with Sales on early pitches; support early customer implementations; and feed structured insights back to Product, Engineering, Marketing, and Sales teams
- Bring Product vision and expertise to key, high-value RWE/HEOR deals
- Serve as Komodo's RWE/HEOR subject matter expert at conferences and events
Requirements
What you bring to Komodo Health (required):
- 10+ years of deep, hands-on experience in RWE/HEOR—leading teams within life sciences organizations, running studies as a consultant, or leading the segment within a healthcare data/analytics company. You’ve lived the workflow, not just studied it from the outside.
- Expert-level understanding of the RWE/HEOR segment: use cases, buyer and user personas, competitive dynamics, and where the market is heading
- Analytical rigor: fluency in both qualitative market intelligence and quantitative data—including internal signals (revenue, pipeline, product usage, win/loss) and external signals (market trends, competitor moves, investor reports)—with a demonstrated ability to build well-structured, evidence-based strategies from both
- Exceptional communication and influencing: the ability to translate complex ideas into crisp written, visual, and oral narratives for diverse audiences including customers, executives, and cross-functional teams
- Track record of operating as an integrative, cross-functional leader (e.g., across Product, Sales, and Marketing functions)
- Experience using AI coding/coworking tools to build something—software, prototypes, workflows, agents. No engineering background required, but genuine curiosity and comfort with building is essential
Qualifications
Additional skills and experience we'd prioritize (nice to have):
- Prior product management experience or hands-on track record shipping products
