PLC Instructor

About the role

The position responsibilities would include instructing students with principles and applications. Academic instruction will include classroom lecture and hands-on activity.

Responsibilities

• Instruct students with principles and applications
• Organize and deliver class syllabi and objectives in a clear, concise manner
• Maintain an organized and safe lab
• Ensure training aids, tools, and equipment are maintained and prepared for use in the classroom and labs
• Keep accurate records of student performance and make the timely submission of academic records
• Provide students with timely feedback

Requirements

• Experience with programmable logic controllers (preferably Studio 5000)
• Set up and troubleshooting of Allen Bradley CompactLogix programmable controllers
• The implementation of safety in an automated environment
• Knowledge of programming in Ladder Logic and Function Block environment

Qualifications

• Prior teaching experience is preferred but not required for most positions
• A minimum of 4-5 years of technical experience and/or an Associate's degree, preferred
• The ability to speak confidently in front of a small crowd and flexible work hours, including evening classes

Skills

• Knowledge of all the tools, equipment, skills and resources utilized in the field
• The ability to work with students in a safe manner
