PLC Controls Engineer

Leidos is seeking an experienced PLC Controls Engineer for work at its Walled Lake, Michigan office. We are seeking qualified individuals to excel in a high-performance team responsible for the development and delivery of market-leading controls services and solutions.

About the role

As a Controls Engineer, you will provide technical expertise and work as part of a team with other engineers and consultants involved in the design and implementation of diverse and challenging solutions for industrial and commercial clients. The ideal candidate would be responsible for the entire lifecycle of a project, from system requirements analysis to hardware design, PLC programming, integration, verification, and commissioning of controls systems.

Responsibilities

• Perform system requirements analysis
• Design hardware for controls systems
• Program PLCs (Allen-Bradley, Siemens, and/or Schneider)
• Integrate, verify, and commission controls systems
• Troubleshoot controls programming
• Read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, and device data sheets
• Use testing and metering devices
• Travel up to 50% of the time

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree with eight plus (8+) years of relevant experience (or more years of relevant experience in lieu of degree)
• Experience with Allen-Bradley, Siemens, and/or Schneider PLC/HMI Programming
• Understanding of A/C and low voltage D/C electrical circuits and operation
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, and device data sheets
• Familiarity with Windows operating systems and software
• Professional demeanor with strong interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills
• Strong business ethics
• Ability to climb stairs and/or ladders
• Comfortable in both customer site and office settings
• Ability to lift 25 pounds
• Ability to walk up to five (5) miles on unpaved surfaces

Pay

Pay Range: $107,900.00 - $195,050.00. The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
