Essential Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain Studio 5000 PLC and safety logic for the planned Compact GuardLogix 5380 platform, including operating sequences, permissives, interlocks, modes, and fault handling
  • Configure and integrate distributed I/O and EtherNet/IP devices; implement data mapping, alarms, diagnostics, and HMI configuration needed for operator control and troubleshooting
  • Maintain the verified boundary for planned shelter AC/DC PDU-panel automation; define interfaces without extending software scope into DC-converter or rack-PDU drawers

  • Support controlled commissioning and troubleshooting of in-scope automation software with hardware, manufacturing, quality, and field personnel, including safe recovery and issue escalation
  • Apply disciplined software version, backup, baseline, change-control, and release practices; maintain source, configuration, device, and revision records for reproducible deployments

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Industrial Automation or a related engineering discipline, with demonstrated knowledge of automation systems and controls
  • Minimum 4+ years of demonstrated hands-on capability developing and troubleshooting PLC applications in Studio 5000, including safety logic and Compact GuardLogix-class systems
  • Working knowledge of distributed I/O, EtherNet/IP integration, HMI configuration, alarms and diagnostics, industrial communications, and controlled commissioning methods
  • Ability to create clear software design notes, interface definitions, test procedures, release records, troubleshooting documentation, and cross-functional handoffs

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with automation for manufactured power-distribution equipment, shelter PDU panels, industrial control panels, or comparable factory-built systems
  • Experience supporting factory acceptance testing, controlled commissioning, fault isolation, production troubleshooting, and software change or release reviews
