Playground Supervisor - Education Support Specialist
Centrally located on Interstate 94 less than 25 miles northwest of Maple Grove and 30 miles southeast of Saint Cloud, Monticello is home to five brick-and-mortar schools and two nature-based facilities serving more than 4,000 students annually. Monticello consistently ranks in the top 50 school districts in the state as measured by a number of organizations and metrics, and performs above the state average in graduation rates, test scores, and early college opportunities.
About the role
Monticello Public Schools has Playground Supervisor - Education Support Specialist (ESS) positions available throughout the district. This position will generally work 174-176 days per year based on the school calendar and training. Hours per day vary by assignment, but most are 1 - 2.5 hours per day. Education Support Specialists work directly with our students and can make a significant impact on our students' school experience.
Responsibilities
- Monitor students in the playground and general areas.
- Work with students of all grade levels and all abilities.
- Take initiative to handle minor discipline situations according to District guidelines.
- Establish a culture for learning by supporting the mission, beliefs, and the strategic plan of the district.
- Maintain confidentiality standards by adhering to the district's data privacy policy.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) required.
- Experience working with elementary-aged students preferred.
- Must be eager to spend the day working with children outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Experience working with diverse students and families.
Current Assignments
- Pinewood Elementary: 2.75 Hours / Day (Monday - Friday)
Pay
Hourly Pay Range: $25.59 - $27.20
Schedule
174-176 days per year based on the school calendar and training.
