Plating Technician

About the role

MPC Plating, located in Brooklyn, Ohio, has been a metal and plastic plating operation since 1985. Today, we specialize in plastic plating and serve as a full-service job shop for customers in the Automotive, Appliance, Heavy Truck, and Medical industries. We invest in advanced equipment and skilled teams to meet demanding customer specifications.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and maintain plating tanks, weirs, solution levels, air agitation, and filtration systems
• Perform chemical additions and maintain plating solutions
• Conduct temperature checks and pH testing according to established procedures
• Monitor, clean, and replace filtration and regeneration systems per maintenance schedules
• Oversee recovery systems and perform cleaning or maintenance as required
• Interpret and follow written, verbal, diagram, and schedule-based instructions
• Maintain a clean and safe work area around chemical storage, filtration, regeneration, and recovery equipment
• Follow all safety procedures and properly use required personal protective equipment (PPE)
• Complete required daily checklists and documentation
• Absorb and assist other plating technicians as needed
• Perform additional duties as assigned

Requirements

• Ability to work overtime, sometimes on short notice
• Strong ability to read and fill in checklists, correspondence, and procedure documentation
• Commitment to following all safety regulations and PPE requirements
• Excellent attendance and reliability
• Ability to work effectively in a team-based manufacturing environment

Skills

• Knowledge of hazardous material handling and chemical solution maintenance
• Basic understanding of chemistry principles
• Experience with plating on plastics or metals preferred
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills

Schedule

3 Openings – 1st Shift, 2nd Shift, & 3rd Shift. Overtime is frequently required, including Saturday mornings.
