Plating Team Leader 2nd Shift

About the role

Rightway Fasteners, Inc. (RFI) is a successful, growing company that has been manufacturing automotive parts in Columbus, Indiana for over 25 years. We specialize in producing high-tension bolts and other cold-formed parts.

Responsibilities

• Assist and lead team members in the manufacturing process
• Perform line start-up
• Create and maintain daily schedules
• Conduct quality checks
• Perform minor troubleshooting for machines and equipment
• Consult regularly with Group Leader
• Serve as backup for absences; relieve others for breaks and lunches
• Maintain record keeping of parts and information
• Operate forklift if licensed
• Wear all appropriate PPE and follow all safety procedures
• Participate in 5S and continuous improvement activities
• Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

• Able to read and understand kanbans
• Able to lift between 25 and 50 lbs
• Safety-conscious with good communication skills (verbal and written)
• Able to stand for 8 to 12 hours, with bending and squatting required
• Understanding of production processes and safety/accident reporting procedures
• Some computer experience
• High School Diploma preferred
• 2+ years of manufacturing experience
• Must be able to read and write English
