About the role

The Plating and Restrike department is seeking a Production Supervisor to lead and manage production goals, ensuring they are met or exceeded within budget constraints and operational efficiency. The position involves providing Servant Leadership, focusing on Safety, Quality, Demand, Employee, and Cost, with a particular emphasis on quality and timely delivery to customers.

Responsibilities

  • Works with Quality Assurance on NCPRs, on-hold product, and testing
  • Makes final authority decisions on questionable product quality
  • Meets internal and external customer demand
  • Updates and monitors DSCs, production reports, attainment/job starts, and orders
  • Reactively addresses process problems
  • Engages in strategic planning
  • Assists department Manager in budgeting, capital and expenditures, new procedures, products, improvements, and innovations
  • Communicates to employees and upper management
  • Flows information to upper management on employee concerns
  • Assists with startup's and other meetings, communicating changes, goals, progress on goals, safety information; answers employee questions
  • Maintains and develops department and company training and other materials
  • Supervises employees in day-to-day tasks on the production floor
  • Coaches and motivates personnel to reach maximum potential
  • Maintains and develops employee performance, prepares and participates in performance reviews, performance issues, and disciplinary actions
  • Serves on hiring teams
  • Fills in during absence of department manager
  • Maintains focus on Safety, Quality, Demand, Employee, and Cost with the goal of on-time delivery to the customer
  • Maintains necessary resources to support personnel in keeping the production process operating efficiently and effectively
  • Maintains safety of the work environment through routine visual observation of the production floor, revision of safety policy, ergonomic abatements, process improvements, employee feedback, and regular safety analysis of the job or the production process
  • Engages in Servant Leadership and concepts of a Lean Manufacturing Culture
  • Creates, revises, or updates policy documents, standard work, standard operating procedure, and quality documents
  • Develops, trains, and documents employees
  • Provides feedback for employees in training, emphasizing Training within Industries

Essential Functions

  • Physical Requirements: Split time between office and production floor, with some walking, standing, lifting up to 10 lbs., carrying, stooping, kneeling, splitting files, transporting paperwork, accessing books and reports, and retrieving files. Some local travel and work outdoors. Requires manual dexterity for extensive computer work and writing. Requires hearing, speaking, and vision (with or without correction).
  • Mental Requirements: Effective communication in verbal and written formats. Requires reading comprehension and basic math skills. Requires flexibility to deal with a variety of people and situations and handle interruptions and multiple tasks simultaneously. Requires quick thinking and problem-solving. Requires maintaining tact and highly professional manners. Requires initiative to complete tasks with little supervision. Requires the ability to identify and appropriately handle confidential information.
  • Equipment Used: Telephone, calculator, personal computer, copy machine, fax machine, and printer.
  • Working Environment: Work is done equally between an office environment and the manufacturing plant. This exposure subjects incumbents to temperature changes, dirt, dust, noise, vibration, moving objects and mechanical parts, machine tool lubricants, equipment, and chemical hazards. Requires co-worker support, guidance, and reinforcement.

Specific Requirements of the Position

  • Physical Requirements: Employee will be expected to split their time evenly between the office and the production floor, with some walking and standing. Pay Range

$73,400.00 - $102,700.00

  • Performs any other duties as assigned.
  • Work Environment: Employee work assignments may include tasks working with and/or exposure to potentially hazardous areas, including flammables and explosives. Safety training is provided to all employees to ensure compliance with company and federal regulations.
