About the role

A leading financial services organization is seeking a Platform Security Engineer to support and enhance enterprise security platforms, strengthening vulnerability management and data protection capabilities.

Responsibilities

  • Act as a technical lead for core security technologies across the organization, supporting platforms focused on threat detection, data protection, vulnerability management, and cloud security.
  • Enhance and maintain security infrastructure across both cloud-based and hybrid environments, ensuring reliability, scalability, and operational effectiveness.
  • Strengthen vulnerability management programs through improvements in asset visibility, risk prioritization, reporting, and process automation.
  • Support and expand data protection initiatives, including data classification, monitoring, and loss prevention capabilities.
  • Identify opportunities to maximize value from existing security technologies by developing new use cases and improving adoption.
  • Develop automation and integrations to streamline security operations and reduce manual effort.
  • Troubleshoot complex platform issues, participate in security investigations, and help drive long-term remediation efforts.
  • Produce and maintain technical documentation, operational procedures, and architecture-related materials.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams on technology implementations, platform enhancements, and security strategy initiatives.
  • Provide mentorship and technical guidance to teammates while promoting engineering best practices.

Requirements

  • 6+ years of experience in cybersecurity engineering, security infrastructure, platform engineering, or a related technical security function.
  • Hands-on experience supporting enterprise security technologies in areas such as vulnerability management, security monitoring, endpoint protection, data security, and cloud security.
  • Strong understanding of data protection, risk reduction, and vulnerability remediation practices.
  • Experience working within Windows and Linux environments.
  • Scripting or development experience using languages such as Python, PowerShell, or Bash.
  • Proven ability to approach security challenges from an engineering perspective, focusing on sustainable and scalable solutions.
  • Experience supporting security programs within cloud and hybrid infrastructure environments.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Exposure to containerized environments and container security technologies.
  • Experience integrating security platforms with IT service management tools.
  • Understanding of SIEM operations, logging architectures, and detection engineering principles.
  • Familiarity with industry security standards and frameworks.
  • Relevant industry certifications and ongoing professional development.
