About the role
The Platform team at Moment is seeking an experienced engineer to architect and optimize our cloud infrastructure, build core shared libraries and code-generation tools, and bridge the gap between infrastructure and application code. This role requires a deep understanding of backend programming, cloud fluency, and a DevEx mindset.
Responsibilities
- Architect "golden paths" by building and maintaining core shared libraries, SDKs, and code-generation tools (gRPC, OpenAPI).
- Design and optimize cloud infrastructure, including ECS, RDS, MSK, and other AWS services.
- Treat the platform as a product by embedding with product teams to understand their friction points and champion a philosophy of building intuitive tools.
- Elevate observability by setting the standard for system debugging, alerting strategy improvement, and teaching troubleshooting skills.
- Be a mentor and technical leader by driving technical standards through documentation, presentations, and mentoring engineers on best practices.
Requirements
- Deep expertise in backend programming.
- Significant experience building high-performance backend services or libraries.
- Understanding of the nuances of the language and ability to write readable, importable code.
- Deep cloud fluency, including experience with ECS, RDS, Lambda, and data streaming services.
- Knowledge of the trade-offs between cost, performance, and complexity in cloud architecture.
- DevEx mindset with a history of building tools that make developers' lives easier.
- Ability to write clear, accessible guides for your tools.
Qualifications
- Experience with backend programming languages such as Go.
- Experience with cloud platforms like AWS.
- Experience with cloud services like ECS, RDS, Lambda, and data streaming services.
- Experience with code generation tools like gRPC and OpenAPI.
- Experience with cloud optimization and performance tuning.
- Experience with cloud security and compliance.
Skills
