Platform Engineer

About the role

The Fidelity Architecture and Engineering team is seeking a Software Engineer for their Engineering Experience team. This role is part of a dynamic team focused on building developer platforms, internal tooling, and marketplaces at enterprise scale.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain developer platforms, internal tooling, or marketplaces at enterprise scale
• Develop and deploy applications using cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/Google Cloud)
• Work across organizational boundaries to deliver platform capabilities used by diverse engineering teams
• Design secure, high-availability distributed systems and APIs
• Leverage DevAssist tools like GitHub Copilot and Gemini Code Assist to optimize development workflows

Requirements

• Experience with IDEs (VS Code or similar) and extension/plugin ecosystems
• Experience with application installation and deployment solutions for Windows/macOS platforms
• Knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/Google Cloud)
• Understanding of CI/CD and DevOps practices
• Experience designing, developing, and deploying applications following established patterns and best practices

Qualifications

• Experience working with the open source community
• Cloud Certifications in AWS, Azure, Kubernetes or similar

Skills

• Experience building developer platforms, internal tooling, or marketplaces at enterprise scale

Schedule

Fidelity is transitioning to a full-time onsite working model through a phased rollout across regions and roles. Currently, some roles and locations require 100% onsite presence, while others require less. Onsite expectations are likely to evolve as the rollout continues. This transition does not apply to fully remote roles.
