Platform Engineer
About the role
The Platform Engineer role at Dark Wolf Solutions involves designing, deploying, and maintaining cloud infrastructure and services to ensure high availability, scalability, and security of cloud-based applications. The role also includes supporting a cross-functional engineering team on the latest technologies, developing best practices, and implementing industry best practices for system hardening and configuration management.
Responsibilities
- Deploying and maintaining common Kubernetes platform services on cloud-native architecture
- Integrating a Kubernetes platform with common enterprise services to satisfy organizational security requirements
- Implementing secure automation, effective monitoring, and Infrastructure as Code
- Deploying and maintaining Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) pipelines across multiple environments
- Supporting and working alongside a cross-functional engineering team on the latest technologies
- Developing and iterating best practices to increase the quality and velocity of deployments
- Implementing industry best practices for system hardening and configuration management
Qualifications
- Mid Level: 4+ years of experience with AWS, GCP, or Azure, and 1+ year of experience with AWS GovCloud, cARMY, or Cloud One. Experience with Kubernetes, Docker, Terraform, DevSecOps tools like GitLab CI, Artifactory, ArgoCD, FluxCD, Helm, Kustomize, and Agile/Scrum processes. DoD 8570 Baseline certifications and US Citizenship required.
- Senior Level: 8+ years of experience with AWS, GCP, or Azure, and 2 years of experience with cARMY, Cloud One, or Platform One at IL6. Experience with Kubernetes, Docker, Terraform, DevSecOps tools like GitLab CI, Artifactory, ArgoCD, FluxCD, Helm, Kustomize, and Agile/Scrum processes. DoD 8570 Baseline certifications and US Citizenship required.
Benefits
This role offers a competitive salary range for the mid level role ($120,000 - $155,000) and the senior level role ($155,000 - $185,000), commensurate with experience. Hybrid support is available in Herndon, VA.
Pay
The estimated compensation for the mid level role is $121,270 per year, while the senior level role is estimated at $155,000 - $185,000 per year, both commensurate on experience.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Computer Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- DoD approved 8570 Baseline certifications (e.g., CompTia Security+ CE Certification)
- US Citizenship and active DoD Secret security clearance or higher
