Platform Engineer

Our client is seeking a DevOps/Software Engineer to join their team in Maryland Heights, MO. This is a 12-month contract role with a hybrid schedule (4 days onsite). The position focuses on AWS infrastructure support and requires immediate availability.

Responsibilities

• Manage and support all aspects of the SDLC pipeline, including production deployments, environment refreshes, and ongoing operational support
• Administer and support change control throughout delivery
• Utilize SDLC tools (Git, Jenkins, Artifactory) to manage code, automate builds, and orchestrate deployments
• Monitor application performance, system health, and security vulnerabilities using Appdynamics, Splunk, Teradata Viewpoint, and AWS CloudWatch
• Architect and implement scalable AWS solutions
• Troubleshoot connectivity/firewall requests
• Implement server encryption, certifications, and patches
• Develop and support ETL processes and APIs, integrating data sources/targets
• Write and optimize SQL queries for Teradata, MySQL, SQL Server, and Postgres
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (AWS/Teradata product management, cloud operations, boundary partners)
• Manage and support IAM permissions and policies

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)
• 5+ years of professional software development experience
• Expert-level AWS infrastructure and architecture knowledge
• Strong SDLC principles background
• Experience driving cloud-native initiatives
• Technical authority to guide AWS infrastructure, data engineering (ETL), CI/CD, and system performance

Pay

The pay range for this position is $55.00–$58.00 per hour. Final compensation may vary based on background, skills, and location.
