Your mission is to enable consistent, high-quality data engineering and data product delivery through CI/CD, Infrastructure-as-Code, and strong disaster recovery practices. You will apply Site Reliability Engineering principles to strengthen automation, observability, and resilience across the data platform ecosystem.

Responsibilities

  • Manage workspace governance, cluster policies, secrets, access controls, and cost guardrails.
  • Automate platform provisioning, onboarding, and environment consistency through Infrastructure-as-Code.
  • Design and maintain CI/CD pipelines that enable consistent deployment of notebooks, transformations, libraries, and data products, supporting test-driven development standards.
  • Standardize data product delivery using reusable pipeline templates and paved-road deployment frameworks.
  • Enforce guardrails and quality gates to ensure reliable, safe, and compliant data product releases.
  • Participate in on-call rotations for platform incidents.
  • Execute runbooks, lead postmortems, and drive improvements that enhance platform reliability.
  • Perform scheduled chaos testing and disaster recovery readiness checks.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience in platform engineering, data platform operations, Site Reliability Engineering, DevOps, or similar roles.
  • 2+ years of hands-on experience supporting Databricks in a production environment.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills across distributed systems, data pipelines, and integrations.
  • Proficiency in at least one scripting language such as Python or Bash.
  • Familiarity with cloud fundamentals (Azure or Google Cloud Platform), networking basics, and identity and access management concepts.
  • Strong experience with CI/CD, Infrastructure-as-Code, and platform-level automation.
  • Experience with operational best practices including monitoring, alerting, incident response, and root-cause analysis.
  • Strong communication skills and ease collaborating with engineering and business-facing teams.

Preferred

  • 2+ years of experience operating cloud environments (Azure preferred).
  • Experience with Terraform, policy-as-code, observability tooling, and disaster recovery engineering.
  • Experience influencing platform strategy and mentoring teams on Site Reliability Engineering and DevOps for data engineering.
