On-siteFull-time
What You'll Be Doing
You'll be in the plateroom getting plates ready to roll for our daily papers, preprints, and commercial jobs. This is a hands-on role where timing matters—when it's go-time, you make sure everything's prepped, running right, and ready for press. You'll also jump in wherever needed, whether that's the pressroom or mailroom, to keep production moving.
Day-to-Day Work
- Build and prep printing plates for daily runs and special jobs—on time, no excuses
- Run and keep an eye on the CTP (computer-to-plate) machines to make sure everything's coming out clean and correct
- Work with the NewsWay system to keep layouts and production flowing right
- Handle basic upkeep and troubleshooting on plateroom equipment—keep things running, don't let problems sit
- Keep your workspace clean and squared away
- Work alongside the crew to hit deadlines and keep the whole operation on track
- Step in and help in the pressroom or mailroom when needed—team effort all the way
- Follow safety rules and use your head around equipment
What We're Looking For
- High school diploma or equivalent is a plus
- Experience in printing, production, or manufacturing helps, but we'll train the right person
- Comfortable with computers and willing to learn the systems we use
- Pays attention to the details and doesn't miss deadlines
- Can work solo when needed but pulls their weight with the team
Physical Side of the Job
- On your feet most of the shift
- Lifting and moving up to 50 lbs
- Repetitive work in a production setting—this isn't a desk job
Work Environment
- Print shop setting—machines running, things moving, real work getting done
- Primary shift is 2nd shift: Tuesday - Friday 2pm - Midnight, though shifts can include early mornings, evenings, and weekends depending on the scheduling needs.
