Plater Advanced HPC
About The Role
This advert is to register your interest for future positions expected to become available at HPC. Altrad are currently looking for an experienced plater to join the team at Hinkley Point C, Bridgwater, Somerset, United Kingdom for the upcoming project.
This role will involve working 10:15-hour shifts on a 10/4 shift pattern, with start date to be confirmed.
The position is paid under ECSA agreements, with lodge and travel paid where applicable. Pay rate: £29.34 basic/h - Possible opportunity to work on a non-working day (Friday and Monday) at OT rates - Overtime will not come into effect until your first full working week.
- To ascertain job requirements from drawings or other specifications.
- To mark out and develop profiles on plate, structural steelwork and pipework.
- To produce templates for marking and/or drilling.
- To produce angled fabrications using bending or folding machinery.
- To form rolled steel sections using section rolling machinery.
- To set out plate work for structural steelwork fabrication.
- To produce and install structural steelwork fabrications.
- To produce and install plate work assemblies of square, rectangular, cylindrical or conical form.
- To produce and install heavy steelwork beams or sections
Key Requirements
- Completion of a recognized apprenticeship within a related engineering or engineering construction environment.
- Experience working within the Engineering Construction Industry on large capital plant such as thermal and nuclear power stations, oil refineries, petrochemical installations, industrial process installations and oil rigs etc
- Full Apprenticeship in relevant or related trade and/or a Vocational Qualification at L3 (NVQ/QCF/RQF) from a recognised Awarding Body (ECITB/EAL) OR Ace Card or equivalent in Fabricating Steel Structures or Fabrication & Welding Trained to CITB Standards or OPITO. Minimum 2 (two) years general site experience on a Petro Chemical Site similar establishment
- CCNSG Safety Passport
- A minimum of 2 years’ experience in plating disciplines i.e fabrication of plate and steelwork
