About the role

This 2nd shift position involves using established processes to plate, coat, and treat metal items by immersion in a series of chemical or electrolytic solutions to ensure required production output meets customer demand.

Responsibilities

• Maintains a safe and environmentally appropriate workplace.
• Incorporates good safety habits while operating the plating line or managing processes, equipment, and accessories.
• Wears OSHA-regulated protective gear at all times while plating.
• Executes and monitors the production process according to specifications in the “Traveler.”
• Follows the schedule to meet customer delivery requirements.
• Works in other processes/methods as needed.
• Manages document control and ensures daily activities are recorded.

Daily Activities

• Processes material through the entire cleaning, activation, and plating process.
• Ensures documentation is complete and ready before running a job.
• Follows processes as written in the traveler and documents process parameters used during job processing.
• Monitors for quality issues and informs supervisors of unusual process or material conditions.
• Scans process steps as required.
• Performs shift transfer activities (e.g., cleaning tanks, topping off plating tanks, cleaning work area, communicating).
• Participates in daily Metrix meetings.

Continuous Improvement

• Supports KAIZEN events when required.
• Provides feedback to enable process improvements.
• Supports the 5S’s culture (maintenance).
