About the role
Monarch Steel Company, Inc., a division of American Consolidated Industries, is one of the country’s largest providers of hot rolled, cold rolled, and galvanized steel products. Here at Monarch Steel we receive steel coils, slit/blank/cut to length coils and ship to our customers. Responsibilities
- Embrace the 1 T.E.A.M. culture
- Wear all proper protective equipment as required in work and in accordance with Safety Policy and OSHA standards
- Maintain a safe and healthful work environment by practicing safe work habits, good housekeeping procedures and adhering to safety guidelines
- Aid in installing compliance with work orders, work instructions and/or customer specs while following all safety guidelines
- Update ERP system with production quantities and identities
- Print tags and apply to product
- Cookordinate the movement of finished goods by material handlers to inventory locations
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned
Requirements
- Forklift/crane certified
- Ability to use computers, read tape measures, micrometers and calipers
- Dependability in attendance, work completion, and flexibility to meet business needs
- Strong focus and attention to detail
- Able to add, subtract, multiply and divide using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals
- Able to work outside normal business hours/days as needed
- Able to interact effectively with employees at all levels of the company
- Able to read and comprehend simple work instructions, work orders, short correspondence and memos written in English
- Able to write simple correspondence in English
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Knowledge of industry knowledge and experience
