Plant Technician (Central Generation)

Job Responsibilities

• Performs preventive maintenance and assists in minor corrective maintenance of the Central Generation facilities.
• Participates in the safe operation of the hydro turbine and associated auxiliaries including reading, recording, and interpreting plant instrumentation and making adjustments as needed.
• Operates flood control equipment during emergencies.
• Performs routine inspections of the Central Generation facilities to detect abnormal conditions or conditions that require repairs.
• Successfully participates in and completes classroom and on the job training including observation of safety rules and practices and environmental compliance guidelines.
• Maintains a clean work area and identifies potential problems and hazards required for the positions.
• Assists in training other plant technicians as required.

Requirements

• A high school diploma or equivalent.
• Make an acceptable score on the preemployment placement exercise.
• Successfully participate in the Power Production Employee Training and Development Program curriculum.
• Working conditions include working twelve (12) hour rotating shifts.
