Job Summary & Responsibilities
Join a dynamic team where technology, teamwork, and hands-on expertise converge to drive a 24/7 bioprocessing operation. As a Plant Technician, you'll operate advanced processing equipment, perform maintenance, and ensure the facility runs safely and efficiently.
- Operate advanced processing equipment and perform hands-on maintenance.
- Document maintenance activities and operate the DCS (Distributed Control System).
- Perform basic electrical troubleshooting and follow start-up, shut-down, cleaning, and batching procedures.
- Maintain logs, collect and test quality control samples, and adjust plant operations based on QA/QC results.
- Assist with preventive and predictive maintenance on plant equipment.
- Maintain cleanliness and adhere to sanitation schedules.
- Ensure food safety and quality to uphold a best-in-class culture of quality.
Qualifications & Skills
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Experience in a production environment preferred for Plant Technician I; documented successful performance as a Plant Technician I or equivalent work experience required for Plant Technician II; documented proficiency in skills listed in the Plant Technician III Skills Checklist for Plant Technician III.
- Working knowledge in math, reading comprehension, and mechanical reasoning.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Experience with software systems like Maximo is preferred.
- Excellent organizational, time management, and communication skills.
- Comfortable working 12-hour shifts and meeting call-in requirements.
Physical Requirements & Work Environment
- Wear PPE such as hard hats, gloves, safety glasses, steel-toed boots, hazardous material suits, hearing protection, and harness.
- Work at extreme heights, in confined spaces, and in extreme temperatures.
- Use equipment/tools including forklifts, power washers, pallet jacks, hoists, scissor lifts, JLG lifts, telehandlers, front-end loaders, various hand tools, and computers.
- Frequent sitting, walking, carrying up to 15 lbs, lifting up to 50 lbs, pushing/pulling with varying forces, bending, twisting, turning, kneeling, and crouching.
- Occasional climbing in/out of Powered Industrial Vehicles, lifting up to 40 lbs, pushing/pulling with varying forces, bending, twisting, turning, kneeling, and crouching.
- Must be able to use equipment/tools safely and with proper training.
