Plant Supervisor - Extrusion Coating - B Shift

About the role

Supervises, coordinates, and plans operations to ensure the Extrusion Coating, Liquid Coating, and Converting departments meet production requirements. Focuses on problem-solving, workflow optimization, and team leadership to achieve production goals.

Schedule

B Shift: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and every other Sunday, 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM.

Responsibilities

• Analyze work orders to estimate working hours and create machining schedules that meet internal and external needs.
• Determine stock and supply requirements based on production schedules and requisition materials from storage.
• Interpret specifications, blueprints, and job orders to assign duties to workers.
• Plan the flow of materials through the department and develop physical layouts of machines according to work orders.
• Coordinate with other departments to ensure customer deadlines are met.
• Inspect and measure parts and products to verify conformance to specifications.
• Direct workers in adjusting machines and equipment to repair products that fail to meet standards.
• Establish or adjust work procedures to meet production schedules.
• Develop, recommend, and implement measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and product quality.
• Suggest changes in working conditions and equipment use to increase efficiency.
• Analyze and resolve work problems or assist workers in solving them.
• Maintain time and production records.
• Develop capital equipment justifications for machine tools and process technology to improve quality, cost, and cycle times.
• Estimate, requisition, and inspect materials.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Associate’s degree in manufacturing or a related field preferred.
• At least three years of experience in a supervisory role in a manufacturing environment.
• At least five years of experience in a plastics or extrusion environment.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and multitask.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality, exceptional attention to detail, and good follow-up skills.
• Proficient problem-solving skills.
• Ability to interact professionally with employees and vendors.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word.
• Willingness to work as a team member or independently.
• Dedication to continuous improvement.
