About the role
Supervises, coordinates, and plans operations to ensure the Extrusion Coating, Liquid Coating, and Converting departments meet production requirements. Focuses on problem-solving, workflow optimization, and team leadership to achieve production goals.
Schedule
B Shift: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and every other Sunday, 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM.
Responsibilities
- Analyze work orders to estimate working hours and create machining schedules that meet internal and external needs.
- Determine stock and supply requirements based on production schedules and requisition materials from storage.
- Interpret specifications, blueprints, and job orders to assign duties to workers.
- Plan the flow of materials through the department and develop physical layouts of machines according to work orders.
- Coordinate with other departments to ensure customer deadlines are met.
- Inspect and measure parts and products to verify conformance to specifications.
- Direct workers in adjusting machines and equipment to repair products that fail to meet standards.
- Establish or adjust work procedures to meet production schedules.
- Develop, recommend, and implement measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and product quality.
- Suggest changes in working conditions and equipment use to increase efficiency.
- Analyze and resolve work problems or assist workers in solving them.
- Maintain time and production records.
- Develop capital equipment justifications for machine tools and process technology to improve quality, cost, and cycle times.
- Estimate, requisition, and inspect materials.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Associate’s degree in manufacturing or a related field preferred.
- At least three years of experience in a supervisory role in a manufacturing environment.
- At least five years of experience in a plastics or extrusion environment.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and multitask.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality, exceptional attention to detail, and good follow-up skills.
- Proficient problem-solving skills.
- Ability to interact professionally with employees and vendors.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word.
- Willingness to work as a team member or independently.
- Dedication to continuous improvement.
