To coach and guide a team of employees to achieve optimum levels of productivity, quality, and safety while meeting operational deadlines and budgets. Responsibilities include recruiting, hiring, and training employees, maintaining a high-performance work environment, and addressing performance or behavioral issues.
Responsibilities
- Meet all production and distribution objectives and deadlines within the established budget.
- Teach, coach, and demonstrate work activities for team members.
- Conduct performance reviews and disciplinary functions.
- Coordinate, assign, and review work, directing staff on priorities.
- Ensure all team members receive required instruction in safety procedures, equipment use, performance standards, and company policies.
- Maintain timely, effective, and professional communications with internal and external customers and suppliers.
- Handle record keeping, filing, and administrative duties as required.
- Report any accidents or incidents within 24 hours and complete necessary documentation.
- Monitor working conditions to ensure team safety, taking corrective or disciplinary action as needed.
- Apply problem-solving techniques (e.g., 8D, 5 Why, Kaizen) to resolve personnel and quality issues promptly.
- Perform other duties assigned by the Operations Manager or Plant Manager.
- Work directly on the warehouse floor on or around heavy machinery.
Requirements
- Basic math and reading skills (high school diploma or equivalent).
- Basic computer skills.
- Interpersonal skills to communicate with plant managers, sales staff, and warehouse personnel.
- Ability to understand equipment and tolerances from past experience.
- Warehouse experience with forklifts, packing, and measuring.
- Demonstrated leadership and team-building skills.
- Safety mindset.
Qualifications
- Preferred: Bachelor’s degree.
- 2-3 years of supervisory experience in a related field.
- Knowledge of metals handling, including proper staging, processing, packaging, and shipping.
- First aid and CPR training.
- Exposure to labor relations, safety programs, ISO standards, lean practices, and sales functions.

$65,000 - $97,000
