Plant Superintendent

Duties, Tasks, And Responsibilities

• Lead daily plant operations and supervise shift supervisors and production personnel.
• Manage staffing, scheduling, labor utilization, employee performance, coaching, disciplinary actions, and succession planning.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, DOT, Process Safety Management (PSM), and company safety standards.
• Oversee the safe handling, storage, and disposal of chemical materials.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to improve productivity, reduce waste, and minimize downtime.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment.
• Monitor and analyze KPIs including throughput, scrap, labor efficiency, and OEE.
• Conduct root cause investigations and implement corrective actions.
• Support inventory management, operational projects, and material flow activities as needed.

Education, Skills And Abilities

• A high school diploma or GED required; bachelor’s degree preferred.
• 5+ years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment required; chemical manufacturing experience preferred.
• Working knowledge of manufacturing operations, safety regulations, and quality systems within a chemical processing environment preferred.
• Prior experience leading in a union environment is strongly preferred.
• Strong leadership, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to lead and motivate employees in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite with strong Microsoft Excel reporting capabilities.
