Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day purchasing activities, including issuing purchase orders and tracking order status
• Source materials and components to support production requirements
• Maintain relationships with existing suppliers and identify new vendors as needed
• Monitor supplier performance (quality, delivery, cost) and resolve issues
• Contact suppliers to schedule or expedite deliveries and to resolve shortages, missed or late deliveries, and other problems
• Ensure timely delivery of materials to meet production schedules
• Maintain accurate purchasing data in ERP or procurement systems
• Monitor inventory levels and ensure appropriate stock is maintained
• Conduct cycle counts and assist with physical inventory processes
• Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies
• Partner with operations to optimize inventory turns and minimize excess/obsolete stock
• Assist in developing and maintaining production schedules based on material availability and demand
• Cook up schedules as needed based on supply constraints or changes in demand
• Ensure materials are available in alignment with production timelines
• Cook up incoming and outgoing shipments with carriers and internal teams
• Support receiving processes, including verification of shipments against purchase orders
• Address shipment discrepancies or delays with vendors and logistics providers

Requirements

• High school diploma required
• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Operations preferred
• 3+ years of experience in purchasing, procurement, or supply chain
• Manufacturing experience is preferred
• Strong understanding of procurement processes and supplier management
• Working knowledge of Excel and Microsoft Word and Outlook
• Ability to communicate with multiple levels of vendors, customers, dealers, co-workers and management in order to achieve optimum plant performance
• Familiarity with inventory control and production planning concepts
• Experience with ERP/MRP systems
• Excellent organizational and time management skills
• Strong communication and problem-solving abilities
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (or similar tools)

Physical Demands

• Regular use of safety glasses and steel toed shoes.
• Limited use of respirator.
• Vision requirements; close vision.
• Regular use of computer, peripherals, and lifting up to 40 pounds from floor level to overhead.
• Regular use of PPE as required.
• On-site role supporting a small manufacturing facility.
• May be exposed to fumes, chemicals, operating equipment, vehicles, heavy machinery, loud noises, cross-functional collaboration with production, operations, and suppliers.
