Plant Procurement Manager
About the role
Schneider Electric is seeking a Plant Procurement Manager to oversee purchasing activities at our Fairfield, OH location. This role involves managing relationships between the purchasing department and manufacturing operations to ensure purchasing objectives are met.
Responsibilities
- Propose actions such as multi-sourcing, reducing global raw material shortages, quality value engineering, changing suppliers, outsourcing, lean practices, new projects, transfers, analysis, and benchmarking against market trends.
- Work alongside the commodity manager for localization or changes in business allocation.
- Manage supplier consultations and selections according to commodity strategies.
- Manage supply qualification, negotiate, and manage contracts with local/specific suppliers.
- Contribute to the purchasing database by updating information for commodity managers, supplier leaders, and supplier databases.
- Follow up on quality and cost reduction objectives related to action plans and productivity programs.
- Initiate, define, plan, communicate, and follow up on projects involving supplier changes, quality value engineering, outsourcing, and implementation.
- Communicate with relevant entities and regions regarding project launches.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business Administration, or related field.
- Minimum of 7 years of direct experience in procurement/sourcing (direct materials), with at least 2-3 years in a managerial position.
- Extensive experience in negotiations and category strategies.
- Influential skills and strong communication abilities.
- Strong business understanding.
- Proficiency in MS Office.
- Excellent organizational, analytical, and writing skills.
Pay and Benefits
The expected pay range for this role is USD 117,600 - USD 176,400 per year. This range includes base pay and short-term incentives. Additional benefits include:
