Job Details

The Procurement Operations Manager is responsible for both the strategic direction and day-to-day execution of procurement and storeroom operations at the plant level. This role leads the procurement operations team, partners closely with plant leadership, and drives cost optimization, supplier performance, and risk mitigation aligned with overall business objectives.

The position reports into senior procurement leadership and serves as a key connection point between procurement and operations, maintenance, and finance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own and oversee all procurement and storeroom functions at the plant level
  • Structure, staff, lead, and develop the procurement operations team to meet business demands and sourcing objectives
  • Manage sourcing activities across MRO supplies, contractors, engineering services, local service providers, and outsourced production processes
  • Act as the primary interface between procurement and plant leadership to ensure alignment with operational and financial goals
  • Develop and implement strategic and tactical procurement plans that deliver cost savings, working capital improvements, and process efficiencies
  • Drive supplier performance while minimizing sourcing and supply chain risk
  • Ensure sourced materials, goods, and services align with plant operations, processes, and material requirements
  • Lead and support cost-reduction initiatives, including Kaizen events, supplier productivity workshops, and inventory and working capital optimization efforts

Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in purchasing or procurement management
  • Legal authorization to work in the United States; visa sponsorship is not available
  • Ability to comply with applicable export control regulations related to controlled technology (EAR and/or ITAR requirements)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Proven leadership experience in procurement or purchasing within a manufacturing or plant environment
  • Certified Professional in Supply Management (CPSM) or similar certification preferred
