About the role
The Plant Operator (NDT Technician) is responsible for utilizing testing equipment to perform NDT (non-destructive testing) inspections on gas cylinders. The role involves evaluating cylinders for surface defects and/or corrosion prior to testing, maintaining a productive rhythm, and adapting to dynamic work environments. Forklift operations in a confined space for the safe movement of cylinder pallets in and out of the testing facility are also required.
Responsibilities
- Utilize testing equipment to perform NDT inspections on gas cylinders.
- Evaluate cylinders for surface defects and/or corrosion prior to testing.
- Maintain a productive rhythm and adapt to dynamic work environments.
- Forklift operations in a confined space for the safe movement of cylinder pallets.
- Contribute to all aspects of the role with a primary focus on safety procedures and community well-being.
- Review, translate, and document test results to ensure compliance standards are met as it relates to local, state, and federal regulations.
Requirements
- A high school degree or GED.
- A minimum of 2 years of related technical and/or mechanical experience (or an equivalent combination of education and experience).
- Demonstrated knowledge of addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division in all units of measure using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.
- Ability to compute rate, ratios, and percent.
- High degree of communication, teamwork, and interpersonal skills.
- Lives by Airgas safety programs, OSHA, and all related rules, regulations, procedures which are applicable to this position’s responsibilities.
Qualifications

- Ability to maintain equipment and perform daily maintenance and calibrations.
- Excellent quality inspection standards.

Shift Time: 1st shift (6:30am-3pm), Monday-Friday
