Plant Operator I

Responsibilities

• Manages the space for incoming wastewater and treatment of the material.
• Performs cleanup of the area as required.
• Checks tank levels for necessary space for material processing.
• Follows all safety and compliance rules and regulations.
• Wears and properly uses safety equipment at all times.
• Operates and maintains shop equipment.
• May perform preventative maintenance on all equipment.
• Operates heavy equipment including forklift truck and skid steer.
• May perform minor electrical maintenance functions.
• Cleans and maintains process equipment.
• Performs maintenance and repairs.
• Collects samples to ensure safety and environmental compliance.
• Troubleshoots equipment issues.
• Completes receiving and disposal logs.

Requirements

• One (1) year of experience as a Plant Operator with the maintenance of water pumps and plant machinery (preferred).
• 1 or 2 years of industrial or plant operations experience.
• 1 or 2 years of maintenance and mechanical experience.
• Experience troubleshooting pumps, motors, and equipment.
• Familiar with preventive maintenance programs.
• Forklift experience preferred.
• Laboratory experience a plus.
• Must be willing to work in environments with strong odors.
• Must be willing to work in hot, cold, and wet conditions.
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to bend, kneel, squat, and climb ladders.
• Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
• Ability to wear required PPE: hard hats, safety glasses, and gloves.
• Reliable transportation.
• Good eye-hand coordination and organizational ability.
• Ability to communicate with others for safety and efficiency requirements.
• Ability to be cross-trained to perform other jobs as needed.

Pay

$19 to $20/hour.

Schedule

Full-time, 7 am to 6 pm.
