Plant Operator
About the role
We are hiring a Plant Operator at Airgas in Donora, PA. This is a union facility with comprehensive family benefits including medical, dental, vision, life, AD&D, and disability insurance. The schedule is flexible starting at 11:00 AM.
Responsibilities
- Bulk cargo tank loading/unloading/evacuation (anhydrous ammonia/ammonium hydroxide)
- Plant maintenance for all aspects of the facility
- Truck and trailer maintenance including pump rebuilds and all other process components
- Cold Flo sampling (anhydrous ammonia)
- Production, testing and date recording of ammonium hydroxide
- Daily inventory/monitoring of products
- Data recording and interpreting to advance operational goals
- Ensure all safety guidelines are upheld with excellence
- Complete plant inspections and hose inspections with attention to detail
- Other duties as required
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Mechanically inclined
- Ability to read and comprehend material safety data sheets
- Knowledge of the area and ability to lift 60 lbs required
- Ability to work independently and under some pressure to meet deadlines
- Must be able to work overtime if necessary
- Must be able to work with a wide variety of people with different personalities and backgrounds
- Basic computer experience preferred
- Experience with pumps, compressors, and hazardous material preferred
