Plant Operator

Job Summary

Martin Marietta is seeking a Plant Operator for surface operations at our Huntsville Quarry in Huntsville, MO. The role involves assisting with plant clean-up, supporting surface crushing operations, and serving as a backup for Plant Operator I.

Key Duties And Responsibilities

• Participate in safety programs and trainings
• Operate skid steer for plant clean-up
• Train and provide back-up for Plant Operator I
• Inspect equipment for wear
• Monitor processes, materials, and surroundings
• Tend to equipment like conveyors
• Operate haul truck for plant operations
• Clean work areas
• Wear personal protective equipment
• Notify supervisors of needed repairs
• Manage multiple tasks and prioritize production needs

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• 1+ years of related experience
• Valid US driver’s license
• Heavy equipment operations or military experience preferred
• MS Office and other computer skills preferred

Skills

• Ability to work with minimal supervision
• Knowledge of MSHA regulations
• Effective written and verbal communication
• Knowledge of machines and tools

Physical Abilities

• Ability to work in an outdoor environment year-round
• Ability to work in elevated areas
• General physical activities: climbing stairs and ladders, lifting, pushing, pulling, stooping, reaching with hands and arms, handling material
