Plant Operator - 3rd Shift

About the role

We are hiring a Plant Operator for a 3rd shift position in Elk Grove Village, IL. This role involves safely handling and filling gas products into various types of cylinders, supporting alignment with government and company standards, and adhering to safety protocols.

Responsibilities

• Safely handle and fill gas products into liquid, medical, and high-pressure gas cylinders
• Meet all safety standards in loading and unloading cylinder gases
• Perform cylinder analyses and support alignment with government and company standards
• Calculate gas mixtures to meet quality standards and document results
• Identify and coordinate cylinder and valve combinations to ensure compatibility with the mix and compliance
• Operate control panels with precision to manage gas mixtures
• Complete all meaningful records to accurately capture production actions
• Promote and uphold company procedures and government regulations regarding the safe handling of hazardous materials
• Safely operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other warehouse/material-handling equipment
• Load/unload cylinders on/off pallets, ensuring they are securely fastened
• Contribute to team success as needed

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED
• Mechanical aptitude
• Lives by Airgas safety programs, OSHA, and relevant rules
• A minimum of 1 year of related technical experience
• Intermediate knowledge of Google Suite or Microsoft Office applications
• Demonstrated knowledge of basic math operations

Qualifications

• High school degree or GED required
• Minimum of 1 year of related technical experience
• Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered
• Prior experience utilizing SAP or similar ERP system preferred
• Intermediate knowledge of Google Suite or Microsoft Office applications preferred
• Demonstrated knowledge of addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division in all units of measure
