Plant Operations Technician

Summary Of Responsibilities

• Replacing idlers and scrapers.
• Replacing oil pumps.
• Chute repairs.
• Mining and plumbing repairs.
• Cutting & welding.
• Repairing cyclones and pan feeders.
• Belt replacement.
• Mining and pipefitting.
• Conveyor alignment.
• General clean up.
• Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

• Minimum of a 2-year post-secondary degree or 4-year post-secondary degree, OR 4-year apprenticeship in related work, OR 4-years full-time military history with directly related work experience (Part-time military only considered if candidate has at least 2 years of full-time deployment with work experience applicable to position), OR 2 years of directly related full-time work experience.
• 2-year post-secondary degrees in mining industrial technology, electrical, industrial, mechanical, maintenance, heavy equipment maintenance is preferred.
• Must be able to recognize upset conditions, determine cause, and then take corrective action.
• Must be flexible with work assignments; will assist other departments as needed and required.
• Must have an exceptional work ethic, strong communication and interpersonal skills, and be able to work in a self-directed team environment.
• Must be willing to work rotating shifts.

Preferred Qualifications

• Work experience in an industrial environment is preferred.
• Excellent safety record and genuine concern for safety in the workplace.
• Excellent attendance record.
• Good troubleshooting skills.
• Proven mechanical aptitude.
