Plant Operations & Maintenance , Technical Leader III
About the role
Leads research efforts in particular scientific disciplines or technologies and participates in the development and execution of research applications, products, and services in those areas. Develops technical solutions to complex problems which require the regular use of ingenuity and creativity. Organizes the external and interdepartmental activities ensuring completion of the project/product on schedule and within budget. May conduct research directly in complex, high impact technical or scientific fields.
Responsibilities
- Applies plant operations and maintenance technical knowledge and experience to industry issues and gains input on needs from members/stakeholders and identifies current and emerging technical issues.
- Solves customer problems, produces insights and information vital to the members, and delivers information in a manner that members and customers can and will apply.
- Manages small or medium (less complex) projects including budgets and resources.
- Communicates strategies and results, written and verbal, to program members, potential members and external stakeholders through guidelines, reports, meetings, webcasts, workshops and conferences.
- Provides assistance to the EPRI sales staff in Member Services and EPRI International.
- Broadens technical expertise and interfaces with national and international technical networks with manufacturers, consultants, and academia and research organizations.
- Manages large projects involving oversight of contract researchers and internal research activities.
- Conducts plant assessments related O&M processes to identify best practices and opportunities for improvement through application of EPRI research in the management of power plants.
Requirements
- 7 years of experience in power plant operations and maintenance leadership.
- Proven ability to apply technical expertise innovatively to accomplish highly specialized technical objectives using creative and imaginative solutions.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Manages projects and works in conjunction with a technical specialist.
- Develops technical depth in 1-2 areas.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in a technical field or equivalent experience required.
Skills
- Knowledge of power plant operations, maintenance and engineering.
- Knowledge of human and organizational performance, corrective action programs, Lock-out Tag-out (LOTO), procedure writing, conduct of operations, emergency action planning, seasonal readiness.
- Ability to manage projects involving oversight of contract researchers and internal research activities.
- Ability to conduct plant assessments related O&M processes to identify best practices and opportunities for improvement through application of EPRI research in the management of power plants.

$170,000 USD to $180,000 USD annually.
