About the role

The Plant Operations Coordinator plays a critical role in ensuring the accuracy, organization, and efficiency of daily plant operations. This position serves as a central point of coordination between production, inventory control, shipping and receiving, maintenance, and plant leadership.

The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, and process-driven, with a passion for accuracy and continuous improvement. Success in this role requires exceptional follow-through, strong analytical skills, and the ability to identify and resolve discrepancies before they become operational issues.

This position is designed as a developmental leadership role, providing exposure to all aspects of plant operations and creating a pathway toward future supervisory management opportunities.

Responsibilities

  • Inventory Accuracy & Control: Maintain and improve inventory accuracy throughout the facility, perform routine cycle counts and inventory audits, investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies, monitor inventory transactions for accuracy and completeness, partner with production and shipping teams to ensure proper material tracking, support month-end inventory reconciliation activities, and develop and maintain inventory control procedures and best practices.
  • Operational Coordination: Coordinate daily operational activities across multiple departments, track production schedules, material availability, and workflow priorities, monitor key plant metrics and maintain operational reports, assist in planning labor and resource allocation, ensure operational documentation is complete, accurate, and current, and support communication between departments to resolve issues quickly and efficiently.
  • Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, accuracy, and organization, assist with implementation of standard operating procedures, support continuous improvement initiatives, participate in root-cause analysis for operational issues and inventory variances, and help develop systems that improve visibility and accountability throughout the operation.
  • Administrative & Systems Support: Maintain accurate records within ERP, inventory, and production systems, prepare reports for plant leadership regarding inventory performance, production metrics, and operational trends, assist with audits, compliance activities, and customer requirements as needed, and ensure data integrity across operational systems.

Requirements

  • Associate's degree or equivalent experience in Operations, Supply Chain, Business, Logistics, Manufacturing, or related field.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and business software systems.
  • Exceptional organizational and time management skills.
  • Demonstrated attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
  • Ability to analyze data and identify trends or discrepancies.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Must be eligible to work in the United States without future sponsorship.
  • Must have a reliable form of transportation and a valid US driver's license.
  • Must be willing to consent to a Motor Vehicle Record screening and criminal background check.

Preferred Requirements

  • Experience in manufacturing, recycling, logistics, warehousing, or industrial operations.
  • Experience with ERP, inventory management, or production tracking systems.
  • Lean Manufacturing or Continuous Improvement exposure.
  • Inventory control or materials management experience.
