Anoka Metro Regional Treatment Center (AMRTC) is seeking a Plant Maintenance Engineer to join our team. Operated by Direct Care & Treatment (DCT), AMRTC serves adults with mental illness in a large, campus-based setting. Located just north of the Twin Cities metro area, this modern facility offers person-centered adult mental health care in a pleasant environment appreciated by patients and employees alike.

About the role

The purpose of this position is to provide adequate shelter and housing for all patients and staff. Maintain hospital equipment, which includes but is not limited to ventilation, heating and plumbing at the Anoka-Metro Regional Treatment Center.

Responsibilities

  • Test boiler water for chemical balance and adjust as required.
  • Maintain all operating equipment in power plant to include all pumps.
  • Maintain proper operations of fire protection systems and equipment.
  • Maintain boilers and water softeners.
  • Maintain the emergency generator in proper working condition.
  • Maintain all heating plant operations.
  • Assist other maintenance personnel with their workload where two or more workers are needed.
  • Respond to callback during off-duty hours.

Requirements

  • Chief Class C Engineer's License
  • Valid Driver's License with acceptable driving record

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of and ability to perform work required in other related building maintenance operations such as carpentry, painting, and electrical, plumbing and general mechanics.
  • Knowledge of various local and state requirements and codes.

Physical Requirements

  • Must be able to climb and work from ladders, scaffolding, personnel lifts, and boom trucks.
  • Lift and carry heavy loads for short distances; may be asked to work in confined spaces and outside in all weather conditions.
  • Must be able to lift in excess of 50 lbs. occasionally.

  • Applicants will be required to provide a copy of their high school diploma at time of interview OR copies of their college transcript or college degree/diploma at time of interview. Copies of the college degree/diploma are acceptable only if it clearly identifies the field in which it was earned.
  • Direct Care & Treatment (DCT) healthcare facilities require employees to provide documentation that they are free from tuberculosis (TB) through a blood test prior to employment. DCT does not accept TB skin testing.

Pay

$34.16 - $39.66 / hourly; $71,326 - $82,810 / annually

Schedule

  • Full-time, unlimited (regular) position
  • Day Shift: Monday - Friday
  • No travel required
