About the role
The Plant Maintenance Engineer ensures adequate shelter and housing for all patients and staff at the Anoka-Metro Regional Treatment Center. This position maintains hospital equipment, including ventilation, heating, and plumbing systems.
Responsibilities
- Test boiler water for chemical balance and adjust as required.
- Maintain all operating equipment in the power plant, including all pumps.
- Maintain proper operations of fire protection systems and equipment.
- Maintain boilers and water softeners.
- Maintain the emergency generator in proper working condition.
- Maintain all heating plant operations.
- Assist other maintenance personnel with tasks requiring two or more workers.
- Respond to callback during off-duty hours.
Requirements
- Chief Class C Engineer's License.
- Valid Driver's License with an acceptable driving record.
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of and ability to perform work in related building maintenance operations such as carpentry, painting, electrical, plumbing, and general mechanics.
- Knowledge of local and state requirements and codes.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to climb and work from ladders, scaffolding, personnel lifts, and boom trucks.
- Ability to lift and carry heavy loads for short distances, occasionally in excess of 50 lbs.
- Ability to work in confined spaces and outside in all weather conditions.

- Resume must clearly describe experience in the listed areas, including beginning and ending month/year for each job held.
- Reference and criminal background checks will be conducted prior to appointment.
- Applicants must provide a copy of their high school diploma or college transcript/degree at the time of interview.
- Documentation of freedom from tuberculosis (TB) via a blood test is required prior to employment.
Pay
$34.16 - $39.66 hourly; $71,326 - $82,810 annually.
Schedule
- Full-time, unlimited (permanent) position.
- Day shift, Monday - Friday.
- No travel required.
