About the role
The successful candidate will lead the operations at our Hazleton, PA manufacturing facility, overseeing various departments to ensure the plant meets its safety, quality, delivery, cost, and workforce performance goals.
Responsibilities
- Manage plant operations across production, maintenance, quality, materials, and human resources to ensure goals are met for safety, product quality, on-time delivery, and cost control.
- Promote a zero-incident safety culture and ensure compliance with Silgan’s safety policies, food safety standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Develop and implement manufacturing strategies to position the plant as a cost-effective, high-performing producer.
- Establish and manage budgets, cost controls, and continuous improvement programs to achieve financial and operational targets.
- Drive a results-oriented management culture by defining accountabilities, monitoring performance, and developing high-performing teams.
- Partner with Quality and Procurement to ensure production and purchased materials meet or exceed customer requirements.
- Foster a culture of collaboration and teamwork through open communication and participative leadership.
- Support food safety and product safety systems within the plant.
- Perform additional duties and projects as assigned by Operations leadership.
Requirements
- A minimum of ten (10) years of progressive operations experience in a manufacturing environment.
- A strong business acumen and ability to manage P&L performance.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
- Experience with union contract administration and labor relations.
- Demonstrated success leading cross-functional teams and driving measurable results.
Qualifications
- An associate's degree or equivalent experience is required; a bachelor's degree is preferred.
Skills
- Strong leadership and management skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a unionized environment.
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes and industry standards.
- Experience with budgeting and cost control.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.

Pay
The salary range for this position is $85,000 - $105,000 annually, depending on experience and qualifications.
Schedule
The schedule for this role is Monday through Friday, with standard business hours.
