Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Plan, organize, and run day-to-day operations to meet or exceed customers' expectations.
- Grow production output and flexibility while keeping costs in check and quality where it needs to be.
- Be present on the floor across all shifts to ensure processes are running right and problems are addressed promptly.
- Use real-time data to identify problems, reduce waste, and enhance performance.
- Build systems, metrics, and targets that maximize the efficiency of both people and equipment.
- Ensure equipment and capital assets are well-maintained and running efficiently.
- Stay updated on production management best practices and implement new ideas.
- Lead the plant culture around Safety, Quality, Service, and Profitability, holding the team accountable every day.
- Engage employees to utilize their full potential and align plant priorities with company goals.
- Own the plant's budget, financial plans, and profit targets, implementing cost-effective controls.
Education and Experience
- Proven experience as a plant manager with a track record of managing people.
- Solid knowledge of business and management basics, including budgeting, strategic planning, resource allocation, and human resources.
- Familiarity with industry-standard equipment and proven best practices.
- Knowledge of safety, quality, productivity, demand creation, inventory, and stewardship processes (SQF, HACCP, AIB, USDA, OSHA).
- Comfortable with Windows-based computer systems.
- Ability to create accountability and lead by example.
- Strong team building, decision-making, and people management skills.
- Bachelor's degree in Business Management or a related field, plus 6 to 10 years of experience.
